Jordan Ryder is an intimacy professional, choreographer, movement director, and educator based in New York City. Her practice lives at the intersection of movement, storytelling, and human connection, with a particular interest in how the body communicates what words sometimes cannot.

 

A graduate of NYU Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Dance and minors in Entertainment Business and Sociology, Jordan has built a career across contemporary dance, theater, film, and live performance. As a choreographer and movement director, she works with performers to create physically specific, emotionally resonant work, bringing a movement-based perspective to character, relationship, and narrative.

 

Jordan approaches intimate moments as choreography: collaborative, intentional, communicative, and grounded in consent. She is interested in creating clear physical frameworks that allow performers to understand what is being asked of their bodies while maintaining agency, choice, and trust throughout the process. Her approach centers clear communication and thoughtful preparation while supporting the creative vision of directors, actors, and the larger production team.

 

Her work is rooted in the belief that physical storytelling can be both precise and deeply human. Whether developing movement for a character, building a physical world, or choreographing an intimate moment, Jordan values specificity, collaboration, and creating environments where performers feel empowered to participate fully in the work.
