RyderDance was founded in July 2018 in New York City. Under the artistic direction of Jordan Ryder, RyderDance strives to present dance that is accessible to everyone by weaving humanistic attributes and stories into vivaciously athletic movement. Consequently, the company’s creative force is inspired by pushing the limits of each individual dancer’s facility, both as an athlete and human. Full-bodied dynamic movement is saturated by weaving in human condition and intention. The result is a complex, electric system, created by the infusion of physicality with intense human awareness.
The company's work has been presented at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, Bayonne High School, Dixon Place, Jack Crystal Theater, Landmark Loews Theater, Mark Morris Dance Center, Mark O'Donnell Theater at the Actors Fund Arts Center, Martha Graham Studio Theater, Muriel Schulman Theater at Triskelion Arts, Sam Scripps Studios, and the Tada Theater.
A review by Cindy Sibilsky, from Broadwayworld.com, has described Jordan’s work as an “evocative of a kind of network, a complex system such as a computer or brain where signals fire rapidly and rely on each other to function as every gesture seemed to inform another.”
